Lapel had won 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they bumped their record up to 19-1 to make it 12. They put the hurt on the Northfield Norsemen with a sharp 16-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 14 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Lapel got a great performance from Jakoby Nunley as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits.

At the plate, AJ Nunley was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last 13 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Darl Gustin, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Lapel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in four consecutive games.

As for Northfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Northfield's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Dubois, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Lapel didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-2 victory against Heritage Christian on the 12th. As for Northfield, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-2 win against Lewis Cass on the 12th.
