Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school girls basketball. The tradition continues to close out the 2024-25 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Paige Lofing of
Huntley Project (Worden) is the 2024-25 Montana MaxPreps Player of the Year. The 5-foot-9 senior guard led the Red Devils to a 23-2 record and Class B state title — the school's first.
For the season, Lofing averaged 23.3 points, 4.7 steals, 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. She ended her career as the fourth-leading scorer in state history with 2,490 points.
Huntley Project earned the championship with a 65-50 win over Baker in the final behind Lofing's 23 points, seven rebounds and three assists. It was the fifth matchup between the teams this season and the Red Devils earned not only the state title but their third win in the series.
Lofing signed with Gonzaga in November.
Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team, which is scheduled to be released in April.
