The Lawrence North Wildcats will be home for the holidays to greet the Brownsburg Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Lawrence North's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Brownsburg has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Last Saturday, Lawrence North faced Center Grove in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lawrence North took a 65-48 bruising from Center Grove. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lawrence North has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Lawrence North had strong showings from Kya Hurt, who scored nine points along with three steals, and Kamara Mills, who scored 16 points. Hurt hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Naja Winston, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Brownsburg pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 62-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Avon. That's two games in a row now that Brownsburg has lost by exactly four points.
Lawrence North's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Brownsburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Lawrence North beat Brownsburg 65-58 in their previous meeting back in February. Will Lawrence North repeat their success, or does Brownsburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
