The Roosevelt Roughriders will head out on the road to face off against Holy Names Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Roosevelt focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Wednesday.
After a string of three wins, Roosevelt's good fortune finally ran out. They fell to Bishop Blanchet 53-49.
Jasmine Hall put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Emma Curtis was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Roosevelt smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Holy Names Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Eastside Catholic on Wednesday, taking the game 53-43.
Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Holy Names Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
Roosevelt beat Holy Names Academy 63-53 when the teams last played on January 3rd. The rematch might be a little tougher for Roosevelt since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
