Addie Mae Habbard made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Habbard was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last six matches.
In other batting news, Addison Calhoun and Maci Strickland did most of the damage at the plate: Calhoun went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Strickland went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Strickland has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Geneva County's win bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Houston County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Houston County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. However, it's not like Geneva County struggles in that department as they've averaged .530. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
