Jeffersonville is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jennings County Panthers at 5:30 p.m.
After dropping their season opener at home, Jennings County is headed out to face a Red Devils squad ready to give their home crowd a win. Jeffersonville fell 12-7 to South Central on Monday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 12 in a row.
Aubrey Cannon was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, Jennings County strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against Batesville as they made off with a 13-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won three matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Ryleigh Sporleder made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other pitching news, Audrey McDonald looked comfortable as she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Maycie Ward, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Riley Byford, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Jeffersonville might still be hurting after the 14-4 defeat they got from Jennings County in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Red Devils have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
