The Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Safford 60-27 at home. The victory was familiar territory for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy who now have five in a row.
Leading Pusch Ridge Christian Academy to victory were Nicole NJoroge and Hannah Johnson. NJoroge scored ten points along with six steals, while Johnson scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. It was the first time this season that Johnson scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Ferbeyre, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Safford saw an underclassman step up: Hannah Schade scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Schade has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played.
Safford struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Pusch Ridge Christian Academy racked up 11 assists.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy pushed their record up to 13-7 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Safford, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-12.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge the Sabercats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sabino will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Safford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Palo Verde has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
