The Milpitas Trojans will head out on the road to  challenge  the Los Altos Eagles at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. The last four games Milpitas has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
 Milpitas' hitters might be in the hot seat  on Monday considering what happened against Homestead  last Wednesday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of  2-0. Considering the last time Milpitas couldn't score was  back in February, the team can't take the result too hard.
  Priyah Quinonez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned runs on two hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in nine consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate, Milpitas saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  April Price, who  got on base  in all three of her plate appearances with a  stolen base.
 Meanwhile, Los Altos suffered a  rough 9-3 loss at the hands of Mountain View  on Friday. Los Altos has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Los Altos also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in:  Sophia Asar gave up  just two earned  (and seven unearned) runs on 12 hits.
 On the hitting side,  Katie Skaggs was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases. Another player making a difference was  Lily Whiting, who  went 1-for-3 with a  triple, a  run,  and  an  RBI.
 Milpitas' defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Los Altos, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
 Everything went Milpitas' way against Los Altos in their previous matchup  back in May of 2023 as Milpitas made off with  a  7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Milpitas since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
