The Sabino Sabercats had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Palo Verde as Sabino made off with a 66-44 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Sabino has posted yet this season.
Sabino's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caden Watkins, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenden Gargus, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and eight assists.
Several Titans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Daniel Ortiz, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Ortiz hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Kameron Pippen, who scored ten points.
Even though they lost, Palo Verde smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sabino only pulled down four offensive rebounds.
Sabino is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season. As for Palo Verde, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4.
Sabino will head out on the road to challenge Empire at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Palo Verde won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56.7 points per game.
