The Lakota West Firebirds will head out on the road to challenge the Princeton Vikings at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
After a string of three wins, Lakota West's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. The game between them and Mason wasn't particularly close, with Lakota West falling 56-38. Lakota West has struggled against Mason recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Princeton didn't have too much trouble with Oak Hills on the road on Wednesday as they won 55-41. Given Princeton's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Oak Hills is ranked 165th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lakota West's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5. As for Princeton, their win bumped their record up to 18-3.
Lakota West beat Princeton 56-48 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakota West since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
