This season hasn't been kind to the Cairo Pilots, who are still winless after their fifth game. They had to suffer through a rough  67-40 loss at the hands of Murphysboro. Cairo has struggled against Murphysboro recently, as their  game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
 Cairo's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Jeserick Pilgram , who  scored 11 points. The  game was  Pilgram 's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  David Shaw, who  scored 10 points.
 Cairo's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Murphysboro, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
 Cairo will be staying on the road  on Saturday to face off against Sesser-Valier at 11:00  a.m.  on December 2nd. Sesser-Valier is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Murphysboro, they will look to defend their home court  on Friday against Massac County at 6:15  p.m.
