Leading Jacksonville to victory were Ama Baldwin and Kelize Velez-Galan. Baldwin scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Velez-Galan scored 27 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baldwin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Elesiah Davis, who scored no points along with five assists and five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why White Oak lost, one person who can't be blamed is Denniyah Tanner. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Tanner has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Zamarah Rawls was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Jacksonville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for White Oak, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Jacksonville will be playing in front of their home fans against South Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for White Oak, they will head out on the road to square off against Croatan at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Croatan's defense has only allowed 29.2 points per game this season, so White Oak's offense will have their work cut out for them.
