Coventry has gone a perfect 3-0 against Tolland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 3:45 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Coventry's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on East Granby with a sharp 13-0 victory. That looming 13-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Patriots yet this season.

Dominic Deangelis made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Coventry got a massive performance out of Jackson Senna, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. Those two runs gave Senna a new career-high. Jack Siena also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Coventry was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tolland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Manchester on Thursday as they made off with a 9-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four games by eight runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Evan Clark, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ethan Schwarz, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Tolland pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Coventry, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Coventry has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Tolland struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Coventry took their victory against Tolland in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
