The Lakota Tech Tatanka had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 49-39 win over Alcester-Hudson on Saturday. Winning is a bit easier when you make five more threes than your opponent, as Lakota Tech did.
Lakota Tech was led to victory by Kate Robinson and Shania Ferguson. Robinson scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Ferguson scored 17 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robinson has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Alcester-Hudson still got an impressive performance from Elly Doering, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 69.2% of Alcester-Hudson's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Alcester-Hudson struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Lakota Tech's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Alcester-Hudson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Lakota Tech will take on Dakota Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Alcester-Hudson, they will head out on the road to square off against Irene/Wakonda at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Irene/Wakonda is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
