Baseball Recap: Hobart Gets the Win

After losing to Highland the last time they met, Hobart decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Brickies narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Trojans 9-7.

Alexander Mays was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Celedonio Pimentel was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hobart kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Hobart is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Highland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hobart will face off against Wheeler at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Highland, they will take on Chesterton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
