Glendora has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Huntington Beach Oilers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Glendora is ranked 176th, while Huntington Beach is ranked 177th).
Last Friday, Glendora and Colony were almost perfectly matched up, but Glendora suffered an agonizing 22-21 loss.
Glendora's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Timothy Johnson, who picked up 83 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Eric Najarro who threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Huntington Beach, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 42-28 loss to Corona del Mar on Friday. Huntington Beach has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Huntington Beach saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tyler Young, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Gray, who picked up 101 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Glendora's loss dropped their record down to 6-4, while Huntington Beach's bumped their own down to the opposite: 4-6.
