Houston has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Bruce Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Houston has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
On Tuesday, Houston had to suffer through a rough 81-52 loss at the hands of Pontotoc. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Houston in their matchups with Pontotoc: they've now lost eight in a row.
Meanwhile, Bruce was beaten by Lafayette 64-32 on Tuesday.
Despite the loss, Bruce had strong showings from Dannon Campbell, who scored 12 points, and Kobe Hooper, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds. Campbell scored a full 37.5% of Bruce's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The losses dropped Houston to 0-6 and Pontotoc to 3-4.
Houston came up short against Bruce when the teams last played last Saturday, falling 53-48. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bruce's Campbell, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. Now that Houston knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
