Volleyball Recap: Gilmour Academy Comes Up Short

The Gilmour Academy Lancers came up short against the Anthony Wayne Generals on Saturday and fell 2-0. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Gilmour Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Mira Siebert had 20 assists. Siebert is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 18 every time she's taken the court this season.

Anthony Wayne was led to victory by Jessie Kennelly and Alayna Rieger. Kennelly had five digs and two aces, while Rieger had four digs and two aces. What's more, Kennelly posted five assists, the most she's had over her last six contests.

Gilmour Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Anthony Wayne, their record is now 5-1.

Gilmour Academy has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Kenston on the 28th. As for Anthony Wayne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Perrysburg on the 26th.
