Konos Academy and Creekside Christian Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since August of 2021, but not for long. The Condor will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Monday, Konos Academy came up short against New Creation Christian Academy and fell 3-1. While the Condor didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Crusaders 25-16 in the first set.
Konos Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 27-25, 26-24, 25-18.
Meanwhile, Creekside Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Mount de Sales Academy by a score of 3-2.
Creekside Christian Academy actually scored more points across those five sets (100-92), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 12-25, 15-25, 15-10.
Defeat or not, Creekside Christian Academy got some senior leadership from Morgan Starr and Katelynn Rossiter. Starr had 29 digs and one assist, while Rossiter had 31 assists and nine digs. Rossiter has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more assists the last four times she's played. Allie Gerak was another key player, getting eight digs and two aces.
Creekside Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Konos Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
Konos Academy couldn't quite get it done against Creekside Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1.
