Basketball Recap: Cesare Baiardi and Isaac Christiansen Secure Win for Rockwell

Rockwell won the last time they faced American Prep WV and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rockwell Marshals walked away with a 67-57 win over the American Prep WV Eagles. That's two games straight that the Marshals have won by exactly ten points.

Leading Rockwell to victory were Isaac Christiansen and Cesare Baiardi. Christiansen went 10 for 18 on his way to 26 points and seven boards, while Baiardi went 7 of 14 en route to 20 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Those 26 points gave Christiansen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaysen Rife, who posted nine points and three steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Rockwell was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as American Prep WV only racked up 11 assists.

When it comes to explaining why American Prep WV lost, don't look at Sharmaarkay Mbwera. Despite the final result, he went 11 of 22 on his way to 30 points and three steals. With that strong performance, Mbwera is now averaging an impressive 19 points per game. Moses Duon was another key player, putting up eight points and nine boards.

Rockwell pushed their record up to 6-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for American Prep WV, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-6.

Rockwell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 83-39 win against Intermountain Christian on the 17th. As for American Prep WV, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-48 victory against Salt Lake Academy on the 17th.
