Meanwhile, Douglas was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 29-25 to Blackstone-Millville. Douglas has struggled against Blackstone-Millville recently, as their match on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Nipmuc Regional bumped their record down to 3-6 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.8 points per game. As for Douglas, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
Nipmuc Regional strolled past Douglas in their previous meeting on January 3rd by a score of 42-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for Nipmuc Regional since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
