The South Pointe Stallions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 57-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Indian Land. While losing is never fun, South Pointe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Indian Land is ranked 19th).
Several Stallions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ry'Darius Hill, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caymen Finch, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Indian Land to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael Jones, who scored 22 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least a third of Indian Land's points. Sincere Rasul was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with two steals.
South Pointe has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for Indian Land, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Pointe will take on Northwestern at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwestern has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Indian Land, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Catawba Ridge at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Catawba Ridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,217 points over their last 16 matchups.
