The Phillips Bears fell victim to the Addison Bulldogs''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Bulldogs, falling 54-0. Having soared to a lofty 40 points in the game before, Phillips couldn't push the score so high this time.
Addison got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jed Wilkins out in front who rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns. Jordan Hubbert was another key contributor, rushing for 92 yards and a touchdown.
Phillips' loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.3 points per game. As for Addison, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Phillips does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Addison will be playing at home against Shoals Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shoals Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
