CLEARFIELD, Pa. -
Christian Lezzer threw two touchdowns and ran for two more as
Clearfield (Pa.) bested Philipsburg-Osceola (Philipsburg, Pa.) 42-7 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a Lezzer touchdown pass to
Trey Jordan in the first quarter, the Bison led 42-0 at the half.
A 28-point second quarter helped Clearfield secure the big victory. CHS scored on a touchdown run by
Tyler Stratton, a defensive touchdown, a Lezzer touchdown run and a touchdown run by Lezzer in the quarter.
Nick Gray played well for the Mountaineers. The junior ran for one touchdown. He has now scored two touchdowns on the season.
Philipsburg-Osceola's lone touchdown came on an 8-yard run by Gray in the third quarter.
The Bison came into the game allowing 15.8 points per game. PO's seven points were right around its season average of 6.9 per game.
Clearfield got revenge for last year's 40-33 loss to the Philipsburg school with the victory.
Next week, the Mountaineers (0-9) will take on Forest Hills in a non-conference game. The Rangers go into the week with a record of 5-3.
