Softball Recap: Unaka's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Unaka had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over the University School Buccaneers on Tuesday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 14-4 victory back in April.

The team relied heavily on Katlyn Dugger, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mollie Buckles, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.

Unaka always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Unaka's win bumped their record up to 6-15. As for University School, they dropped their record down to 6-17 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Unaka nor the Buccaneers have any future games scheduled.
