The Wayne Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Dibble Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Wayne has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Dibble will arrive with six straight wins.
Last Friday, Wayne came up short against Healdton and fell 28-20.
Meanwhile, Dibble put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They put the hurt on Stratford with a sharp 40-20 win.
Dibble's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jag Norman, who rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns. Norman is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played. Austin Maddox was in the mix too, providing Dibble with two touchdowns.
Wayne's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.2 points per game. As for Dibble, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Wayne was dealt a bruising 38-8 defeat at the hands of Dibble in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can Wayne avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
