The Alliance Aviators will head out on the road to face off against the Aurora Greenmen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alliance has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 138 points over their last three games.
Last Friday, Alliance got themselves on the board against Marlington, but Marlington never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 36-0 win over the Dukes on the road. The result was nothing new for Alliance, who have now won four matchups by 34 points or more so far this season.
Brendan Zurbrugg was his usual excellent self, rushing for 185 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 205 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. Zurbrugg really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Ramhir Hawkins also helped out with an impressive 89 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Aurora had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.3 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Highland 9-7. That's two games straight that Aurora has won by exactly two points.
Alliance's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Aurora, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-1.
