Basketball Recap: Camari Hale's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Crossroad Academy over Godby

Crossroad Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 68-56 to the Godby Cougars. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Scorpions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-39 two weeks ago.

Several Scorpions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Camari Hale, who posted 25 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Hale a new career-high in steals. Forrest Dudley was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Godby's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Logan Rose, who put up ten points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Mekhi Butler, who scored nine points.

Crossroad Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7. As for Godby, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Crossroad Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-54 win against Munroe on the 11th. As for Godby, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-51 defeat against Westover on the 11th.
