The Soroco Rams won the last time they faced the Vail Christian Saints, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Soroco escaped with a win against the Saints by the margin of a single free throw, 49-48.
Soroco's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daisy Hoff, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hoff has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kolbie Pierce, who scored 14 points along with four steals and two blocks.
When it comes to explaining why Vail Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Noelle Razee. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points. It was the first time this season that Razee scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Armstrong, who scored ten points.
Soroco's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Vail Christian, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Soroco will head out on the road to square off against the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully DSST: Cedar focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Wednesday. As for Vail Christian, they will be playing at home against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hayden focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Thursday.
