If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Dowling Catholic. On Friday they will take on Sioux City North at 7:00 PM. Dowling Catholic will be hoping to continue their now four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
Last Friday, Dowling Catholic put the finishing touches on their 6th blowout victory of the season. They put a hurting on Hoover to the tune of 59-0. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (53) and coasted on those for the victory.
Meanwhile, Sioux City North came into their this week averaging 39.57 points per game, but Sioux City North fell well short of that average, and it cost them. They were completely outmatched, falling 7-62 to Ankeny. Sioux City North's low-scoring defeat was the unsatisfying follow-up to their high-scoring outing the game before.
Dowling Catholic's win lifted them to 6-2 while Sioux City North's loss dropped them down to 2-6. We'll find out if Dowling Catholic can add another positive mark to their record or if Sioux City North can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Dowling Catholic's step.
