The Cabool Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 69-60 defeat to Norwood. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cabool in their matchups with Norwood: they've now lost four in a row.
Norwood was led to victory by Cooper Vaughan and Noah Drake. Vaughan dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, while Drake scored 19 points along with three steals. The contest was Vaughan's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Bradshaw, who scored nine points.
Cabool's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Norwood, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cabool will take on Koshkonong at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Koshkonong will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 525th, while Cabool is ranked 229th). As for Norwood, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Houston at 6:00 p.m. Houston has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 27.
