The Islands Sharks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 30-29 to Memorial Day.
McKenzie King was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Julie Toub, who scored 6 points along with 10 rebounds.
Islands' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Memorial Day, their win bumped their record up to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Islands will square off against The Habersham School at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully The Habersham School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Friday. As for Memorial Day, they will head out on the road to face off against Bridges Prep at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Bridges Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Thursday.
