The El Monte Lions will head out on the road to take on the Rosemead Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. El Monte will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
El Monte is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Marshall 72-6 on Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-0.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead El Monte to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aaron Rivera, who rushed for 78 yards and four TDs on only seven carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Rivera a new career-high. Another signal caller making a difference was Alex Aleman, who threw for 191 yards and three touchdowns.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for El Monte, adding 22 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Visi Aseh, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from Anthony Ramirez.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to El Monte's defense and their five sacks. Leading the way was Gilbert Rosales with two. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last five games he's played.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Rosemead and Gabrielino had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Panthers took a blow against the Eagles last Friday, falling 48-13.
El Monte pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points over those games. As for Rosemead, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Everything came up roses for El Monte against Rosemead when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 43-15 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
