The Soquel Knights will challenge the Hughson Huskies at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Soquel is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
On Friday, Soquel got the win against San Lorenzo Valley by a conclusive 14-1. Considering the Knights have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Nativo Gonzalez tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hudson Summerrill, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Enzo Goff, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Soquel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Lorenzo Valley only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hughson, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against Hilmar by a score of 8-4 on Thursday.
Bryce McDaniel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.
In other batting news, Beau Blake was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Andrew Fisher, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Hughson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Soquel, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road.
Soquel's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's game. The Knights have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Hughson, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Soquel continue to outrun the ball?
Soquel couldn't quite get it done against Hughson in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
