The Reedy Lions will face off against the Walnut Grove Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Reedy is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Texas (they are ranked 171st, while Walnut Grove is ranked 368th).
Reedy waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 65-40 margin over Frisco. Reedy pushed the score to 51-25 by the end of the third, a deficit Frisco cut but never quite recovered from.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Walnut Grove at home against Heritage on Tuesday as the squad secured a 52-20 victory. The victory was just what Walnut Grove needed coming off of a 54-23 loss in their prior match.
Reedy's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-10. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Walnut Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season.
Reedy strolled past Walnut Grove in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 by a score of 42-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Reedy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
