The Idaho City Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Victory Charter by a score of 44-42. Idaho City has not had much luck with Victory Charter recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Idaho City still got an impressive performance from Selena Exon, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Exon has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Barber, who scored two points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Camille Royer was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds for Victory Charter. Royer hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. Taylor Bement was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten steals and eight rebounds.
Idaho City has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Victory Charter, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9.
Idaho City will head out on the road to challenge Wilder at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Wilder is ranked 133rd, while Idaho City is ranked 142nd). As for Victory Charter, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Notus at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Notus focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Monday.
