West is 2-8 against Hardin Valley Academy since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Rebels will challenge the Hawks at 6:30 p.m. West is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
West got their first taste of in-conference action on Monday and they started things off strong. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over William Blount. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Rebels as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Isaac Hunter looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Morgan Ferrell was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Dugan, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are 8-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Hardin Valley Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Maryville on Monday and fell 8-7. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
West's record is now 17-13. As for Hardin Valley Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7-1.
West couldn't quite get it done against Hardin Valley Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
