The Kinston Vikings lost against the Southwest Onslow Stallions back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Kinston lost to Southwest Onslow at home by a decisive 50-31 margin. Kinston has not had much luck with Southwest Onslow recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Southwest Onslow's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Khimara Dorsey, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dorsey has scored all season. Yamorie Hardison was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Kinston's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Southwest Onslow, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kinston won't have much time to rest: their next match is against South Lenoir at 6:30 p.m. on January 11th. Hopefully South Lenoir focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday. As for Southwest Onslow, they will be playing at home against James Kenan at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
