The Emmaus Hornets will head out on the road to challenge the Wilson Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Emmaus 4, Wilson 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Emmaus was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Louis E. Dieruff on Wednesday. The Hornets blew past the Huskies 11-1. The matchup marked the Hornets' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Robert Barnes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.
In other batting news, Logan Ravier and Josh Diaz did most of the damage at the plate: Ravier scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Diaz scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That stolen base was Diaz's first of the season. Drew McGeehan was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wilson, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Reading on Friday.
Like Emmaus, Wilson also got a great game from a two-way player: Christo Hunsicker. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Hunsicker was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
In other batting news, Gabe Spohn was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Alex Ernesto, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Emmaus has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Wilson, their record now sits at 4-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Emmaus has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wilson struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
