The Valley Vikings lost against the St. Paul Lutheran Giants back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Valley fell 42-35 to St. Paul Lutheran. Valley has struggled against St. Paul Lutheran recently, as their match on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Mia Sherrill was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds for St. Paul Lutheran. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Sherrill has scored at least 25% of St. Paul Lutheran's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Pippa Detring, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Valley has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for St. Paul Lutheran, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bourbon at 5:30 p.m. on January 8th. As for St. Paul Lutheran, they will be playing at home against Lesterville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
