The Cherry Creek Bruins will head out to challenge the Regis Jesuit Raiders at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Cherry Creek is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
Cherry Creek is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Everything went their way against Grandview as they made off with a 7-1 victory. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Cael Knobbe tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sean Goldy, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tyce Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Regis Jesuit faced Grandview in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Raiders won by a run and slipped past the Wolves 2-1. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Michael Kroll spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits.
On the hitting side, Regis Jesuit's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Diesel Bernosky, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Regis Jesuit pushed their record up to 22-8 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Cherry Creek, their record now sits at 22-5-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cherry Creek has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Regis Jesuit struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Cherry Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Regis Jesuit when the teams last played last Friday, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
