After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rutherford, the Godby Cougars were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 65-20 win over FAMU DRS on the road. The team accrued 53 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.
Godby got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cristina Brown out in front who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Brown continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Cornelius, who scored 11 points.
Godby's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for FAMU DRS, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Godby will take on Madison County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Madison County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for FAMU DRS, they will head out on the road to square off against Chiles at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
