Santee is a perfect 4-0 against Maywood CES since August of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Falcons will challenge the Wolfpack at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Santee is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 40-8 victory over Locke. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Keitran Lattimore and Daynian Alvarado. Lattimore rushed for 35 yards and two TDs while Alvarado rushed for 68 yards on only seven carries.
Santee was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 390 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 197 rushing yards in ten consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Maywood CES strolled past Fremont with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 34-16. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolfpack.
Santee better keep an eye on Dylan Rodriguez. He was instrumental in Maywood CES' win, rushing for 100 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries. Rodriguez also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Wolfpack are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise.
Santee's record is now 7-4. As for Maywood CES, their record now sits at an identical 7-4.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Santee has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 321.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Maywood CES struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 220.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Santee against Maywood CES in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, as the team secured a 41-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
