Basketball Recap: Central Dauphin Piles Up the Points Against Altoona

Central Dauphin won the last time they faced Altoona and things went their way on Thursday too. The Central Dauphin Rams breezed by the Altoona Mountain Lions to the tune of 68-33. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Wayne Fletcher II was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 17 on his way to 24 points along with seven boards and four steals. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Richard Chase was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Central Dauphin was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive contests.

Central Dauphin pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Altoona, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Dauphin has already played their next match (against State College), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Altoona will challenge Williamsport at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
