Baseball Recap: Albany Academy for Boys Takes a Loss

Albany Academy for Boys made up a huge gap compared to their last game against La Salle Institute, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Albany Academy for Boys fell just short of La Salle Institute by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday. Ben Dalto was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Dalto wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Willie Kimbler, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Albany Academy for Boys and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for La Salle Institute, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.

The timing is sure in the Cadets' favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while the Bengals have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
