Baseball Game Preview: Plumstead Christian vs. Collegium Charter Cougar

Plumstead Christian is a perfect 7-0 against Collegium Charter since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. Plumstead Christian will host Collegium Charter at 3:45 p.m. Collegium Charter took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Plumstead Christian, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Plumstead Christian made easy work of Upper Bucks Christian and carried off a 19-4 win. Plumstead Christian has beaten Upper Bucks Christian the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Upper Bucks Christian has come to flipping the script.

Liam McIlhinney made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. McIlhinney was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Declan Glass and Micah Kulp did most of the damage at the plate: Glass scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Kulp scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Santi Torres, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Collegium Charter's offense. They lost 12-0 to Lower Moreland on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Cougar's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Plumstead Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Collegium Charter, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Plumstead Christian took their win against Collegium Charter in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. Will Plumstead Christian repeat their success, or does Collegium Charter has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
