Basketball Recap: Mississippi Valley Christian Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

If Rivers of Life Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Mississippi Valley Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Abi Wright. The Mississippi Valley Christian Warriors blew past the Rivers of Life Christian Eagles 44-18 on Thursday thanks in part to Wright, who posted 12 points. Those 12 points gave her a new career-high.

Rivers of Life Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sienna Campbell, who scored eight points.

Mississippi Valley Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.2 points per game. As for Rivers of Life Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Mississippi Valley Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-27 win against Thomas Jefferson School on the 24th. Rivers of Life Christian has also already played their next game, a 38-25 victory against Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis on the 23rd.
