The Beechcroft Cougars pushed their score all the way to 69 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 82-69 to South. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Saturday (62), Beechcroft still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Beechcroft lost, one person who can't be blamed is Santonio Dortch. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Khalil Samuel, who scored 16 points along with six assists and four steals.
South was led to victory by Maurice Mccall and Lajames Washington. Mccall scored 19 points, while Washington scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carmelo Mc donald, who scored ten points.
Beechcroft's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for South, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beechcroft will take on Dunbar at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dunbar presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Beechcroft in Ohio (Dunbar is ranked 90th, while Beechcroft is ranked 316th). As for South, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ponitz Career Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
