Ellis had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They put the hurt on the Scott Beavers with a sharp 12-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Railroaders, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Aiden Aschenbrenner was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Gavyn Wildeman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Ellis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Ellis' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Scott, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ellis will challenge Ellinwood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Railroaders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Scott, they will venture away from home to take on Garden City at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
