The Cane Bay Cobras suffered their biggest loss since December 16, 2023 on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Ashley Ridge, falling 60-30. Cane Bay was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-13.
When it comes to explaining why Cane Bay lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anai Custodio. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Custodio has scored all season.
Cane Bay struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Ashley Ridge racked up 17 assists.
Dianna Blake continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Ashley Ridge, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds. Nadia President was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Cane Bay bumped their record down to 5-13 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Ashley Ridge, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.
Cane Bay won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Stratford at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Ashley Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Summerville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Summerville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
